St.Mary's School Awards Ceremony

Pupils, parents, staff, and invited guests congregated in St.Mary's church hall today for the school's end-of-year awards ceremony.

Before the presentations, the recorder club and the drama club performed short pieces. Shown here are the younger members of the drama club performing their play about a new boy in school who gets left out of the other children's activities. The older members performed their play which they had been challenged to create themselves, incorporating certain objects. The play was shown a second time incorporating improvised changes suggested by parents and children.

After a short introduction by the chairman of the school board Alastair McCulloch, renowned computer game creator Chris Sawyer presented the awards.
